Description
The Grumello Rocca de Piro is, like all the wines of Ar. Pe. Pe., 100% Nebbiolo. The vineyard climbs from literally just above the cellars, which are dug into the mountainside, up through a series of extremely steep terraces to the Castle de Piro at its apex. Nebbiolo at its most elegant, the Grumello Rocca de Piro shows autumnal aromas of forest along with tobacco and leather, and red fruits. On the palate, a juicy acidity keeps the wine fresh and extremely lively - the cool nights at high altitude preserving the freshness in the grapes themselves.
