Description
The Ant Moore Pinot Gris comes from Ant Moore's home vineyard, and is his first estate grown Pinot Gris. The Ants Nest vineyard is located in the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough. Here, the harvest is separated into three different batches which each get varying treatments in the winery. In the bottle one finds a pale straw colored wine with hues of bright rose. The nose is packed with stone fruit as well as nectarine, pear, and peach. On the palate this wine is soft and refreshing with a creamy character leading way to a dry, fresh finish. Layers of fruit are balanced by minerality and very balanced acidity. The Ant Moore Pinot Gris is a slightly more restrained wine than most of what comes out of the Marlborough region of New Zealand.
